もとジャパンアクションクラブの若手俳優、高木淳也さんの自伝です。
彼の行動力に圧倒されました。人生を責任を持って切り拓く、日々是練磨を座右の銘にしている、現在福岡県の町会議員を勤めておられる姿、考えに、とても励まされ、生きる勇気が湧きます。ぜひ読んでみて下さい！！

　現在から４半世紀前――1983年毎週土曜夜7時に放送され、当時の子どもたちから絶大な人気を誇っていたアクションドラマ『カンフーチェン』
　このドラマの主役を張っていた人物こそが、この本の著者である高木淳也氏である。
　私も幼少期の頃、毎週楽しみに拝見していたが、失礼ながら氏の事は存じておらず、吉田豪・著『続・人間コク宝』で初めて知った次第である。本書は、氏の自叙伝となっているが、下手な私小説よりもはるかに面白い内容である。

　15歳の時に「アクションスターになる」と公言してJACの門を叩き、スタントマンやエキストラなどの下積み時代を経て、17歳で『カンフーチェン』の主役に抜擢されるや一躍スターダムにのし上がった氏であるが、事務所との確執から独立し、裸一貫で単身渡米しプロモーション活動を展開したり、帰国後、自ら資金を捻出して映画製作に乗り出し、製作・脚本・監督・主演により、見事完成させるも上映館がなく、当時初の試みとなるディスコ上映を都内33ヵ所で行ない、一日で2万人を動員する快挙を成し遂げる。
　その後、長年の後遺症からの肉体の限界により俳優業を引退し、故郷・福岡に戻り、町の治安活動の一環として政治結社『黒龍会』を立ち上げ、愚連隊撲滅運動を図るも警察に逮捕され、二年間の獄中生活を強いられる。しかし出所後は、国際ジャーナリストとして数々の黒社会の取材を試みたり、町議会議員に立候補し見事当選を果たす文字通り波乱万丈の半生である。

　現在も俳優業に復帰し、Vシネマなどで活躍される氏であるが、どんな苦難にもめげずにひとつひとつその障害を乗り越える氏のバイタリティあふれる実行力と行動力にただただ感服せざるを得ず、また、読後感として、何かしら読む者を熱く感動させる渾身の一冊である。今後も氏の活躍から目は離せない。
