四種の神器を宿した神器使いと、眷族と呼ばれる異形の化け物の戦いを描いたアクションバトル作品第９巻。著者・井上淳哉氏が前巻にて「展開を派手にする」と宣言された通りバトルは益々ヒートアップ。警察特殊部隊や自衛隊まで巻き込んでの”戦争状態"にまでエスカレートしていく巻です。
前巻から続く「丙の章」では、神器使いＶＳ神護一族の凄惨なる消耗戦のクライマックスが描かれます。妖介対秋雀のバトルは正に実力伯仲、双方ともに死力を尽くした戦いが楽しめます。一方、眷族を生み出した六条重臣の封印を解くべく六条神社に迫った神護一族・頭領を迎え撃つのはよもぎ、林檎、太一という神器を宿していない面々。圧倒的な戦闘力の差をどのように埋めるのか？よもぎの策略、林檎と太一の勇気、守護獣であるキツネやタヌキの奮戦っぷりが見所です。
多大な被害を出しながら辛くも神護一族を退けた神器使い達ですが、傷の癒える間もなく丁の眷族が出現。これまでにない巨体と破壊力を有した敵と、自衛隊をも巻き込んでの市街戦が展開される「丁の章」に今巻後半からは突入します。
昔の怪獣映画を彷彿とさせる様なバトルと、悲惨なる犠牲者の姿、思わぬ伏兵に動きを封じられる妖介、新たに張られる伏線等、見所の多い展開となっていますね。個人で戦うには全くスケールの違う敵に神器使い達がどのように対するのか、今後の展開に注目です。
又、バトルとバトルの合間に挿入されている妖介の幼馴染・潤子のエピソードにも注目。グリーディングカードに託した潤子の想いを知った妖介の慟哭、重度の障害を抱えてしまったにも関わらず妖介を庇おうする潤子の健気さが胸をうちます。激しいバトルとその結果引き起こされる悲惨な現実、このコントラストが魅力となっている巻ですね。
巻末の解説は神器使いの能力が分かり易くまとめられていますし、カバー折り返し部分のイラストは笑えます。こうった付加要素も嬉しいですね。

ゴジラとかガメラとかギララとか存在したら怖いけどリアリティのない怪獣達と比べるともしかするといるかもしれない、チョット信じたくなるような怪獣・怪人達（大妖怪だっつーの）との戦いもついに最終章。こういう世界観が大好きなＱ・マン・７がスキな自分は読むのが勿体ないです（といいつつつ最後まで購入予定です）。今巻の見所はネタバレになるので書きたくないですが、怪人軍団対４人の神器使いです。更にケンジの成長ぶりも良いです。しかし毎章毎章よくもネタが続くと感心しきりです。次巻も当然購入しました。このまま読者の興味を飽きさせないで完結させて欲しいです。
