おそらく 『よつばと!〈5〉』のとーちゃんの発言から連想しちゃって作っちゃったのであろう本作。白と黒の動物とよつばを一緒に描いただけです。ストーリーはありません。イラストの図鑑といったかんじです。
ただ、ちょっとあずまのセンスが光るなぁと思わされたのは、動物の名前が本物なところ。俗名じゃないんです。子ども向けだけど、子どもを子ども扱いしない。あずまきよひこは立派な人だと思いました。
漫画のストーリー性が好きな人には物足りないかと思いますが、あずまきよひこ及びよつばスタジオのデッサン力やデザインセンスが好きな人は買ったらいいと思います。お安いので、まあ試しにってかんじがいいかもしれません。

ハッキリ言って、よつばと！を知らない人には、なんじゃこりゃ！てな感じの絵本です。ページが少なく、物語も無い、子供が読んでも面白いと思う子は殆んど居ないと思われます。これは、よつばと！好きの大人の為のちと高いイラスト本・・・てな感じ？かな？

　とよつばが聞くかもしれませんが、いやいや高くはありません。
　ストーリーも台詞もない絵本と言うよりは子ども向けの画集といった感じです。
　他のレビュアーさんも書かれていますが、「シマウマ」「牛」と書かずに「サバンナシマウマ」「ホルスタイン」などと動物名が書かれているのは好感が持てます。
　「よつばと！」読者向けなのは当然ですが、知らなくても子どもにプレゼントする絵本として良いんじゃないでしょうか。

　「よつばと！」を読んでいると、次のシーンが想像できてほほえましく感じます。
