面白いかそうでないかは人それぞれなので、内容をさらっと紹介。

1.人の痛みがわかる国
その国は旅人に機械が完璧なサービスをしてくれる。でもなぜか住人たちは家から一歩も
出ようとしていない･･･。

2．多数決の国
その国にはたくさんの墓があり、住人は1人だけだった。

3．レールの上の三人の男
旅の途中、列車のレールに沿って走ると1人の男と出会った。

4．コロシアム
評判のいい国だったはずが、入国した途端トーナメントバトルに参加させられた。

5．大人の国
その国では12歳になると大人になる手術がある。そこに旅人がやってきて･･･。

6．平和な国
その国はかつて二国間での戦争が絶えなかった。しかしある方法で平和になったのだが･･･。

こんな感じです。
読書慣れしてない人には読みやすいボリュームだと思うし、逆にそうではない人にはちょっと
物足りないかもしれません。

　人間の残酷さ、愚かさなどを題材にした連作小説です。主人公はいくつもの国を、観察者として通り過ぎてゆきます。童話「星の王子様」の前半部分、「大人って変だなあ」と言いながら星々を通り過ぎてゆく部分を思い出してもらうとわかるかもしれません。
　各国の慣習によって表現される人間風刺が、作品の持ち味でしょう。着想の面白さに加えて明確なメッセージ性があり、高く評価する人がいるのもわかります。

　ただ、人によって合う合わないがありそうです。
　主人公のキノはあくまで観察者であり、他者との交流に興味がありません。主人公以外の登場人物も（おそらくは意図的に）一面的な姿に描かれています。したがって一般的な小説にあるはずの「心の触れ合い」や「成長」は起こらず、物語が発展してゆくこともありません。描かれる世界は冷たく、静止画のようです。
　クールな雰囲気を楽しむ人、物語にテーマ性を求める人に向いていると思います。感情移入して楽しみたい人、波のあるストーリー展開を求める人には、合わないでしょう。
　私自身は合いませんでした。面白いという人がいることは理解しつつ、星二つ。

一つの国に滞在する期間は三日間。長く、そして短い。
故に、主人公キノと相棒のモトラドは正義感を振りかざすでもなく
物事を客観的に見聞きし、去っていく。

他のライトノベルと違い萌えや燃え、大冒険でもなければＳＦでもない。

淡々と、静かに物語は進んでいく。

キノは旅先にある矛盾やおかしな事を、我々読者に代わって代弁してはくれない。
けれど、それ故に読者はそこにある矛盾した社会体制や、おかしな国民に気付かされる。自分で考えることが出来る。

読書とは文章を読み、考える。と定義するならば
この作品は非常に意義のある作品だと思います。
