まさにタイトルどおりです。アンティークなかんじで全体の着こなしは、まとまっていますが、奇抜でなくおしゃれですぐ真似できそう。しかも、「着物のいろは」、どんなときにどんなものを、というのがわかりやすく説明されてるので、これさえ読めば失敗なし！着付けも、とてもわかりやすいし、まさに”着物はじめて”のひとには、おすすめです！

年に数回しか着ないと、着付けは細かい手順やコツを忘れがち。この本の着付け・帯結びの図解は写真と説明がとても詳しくわかりやすい。着付け教室でもらったテキストよりこの本のほうがずっと頼りになる。
この本一冊で全くの初心者が自力で着付けできるかどうかは微妙だが、一通り習ったことがある人なら、これを見ればほとんどのことは思い出せるはず。
半襟の付け方、着物の畳み方、手入れや小物の選び方も親切に書いてある。コーディネート例は「一つの着物で別の着こなし」もセットで掲載されているところが心憎い。中にはアンティークの見事な逸品も混じっているので、「見て楽しむ」という点でもこの本は合格。
着物雑誌や女優・作家など着物本はたくさん出ているが、個人的にはその類は図書館で一度借りれば十分。買って手元に置きたいのはこういう実用的な本だと思う。
