稲川さんは日本の怪談文学のパイオニアである方なのですが、
特選集でもないのに同じ話を何度も掲載するという困った傾向があります。
この本は、ライブ未公開作品を中心とした新作であり、
話はかぶってはいませんでした。この点は評価できます。

しかし、タイトルに反して全然怖くない話が多かった。
なぜなら怖い幽霊が出てくる作品がないから。ぱっと見て人が消えて
しまったとか、実はこの人は死んでいたという程度なのです。
この本では「九州の旅館の話」と「ある絵の話」が評価できる作品ですが、
これらも稲川さんの以前の傑作と比べれば今ひとつの感があります。
この他「稲川淳二の最新・超怖い話―霊怪」は
結構怖い話が入っています。

2003年度の第一弾であるこの本は、ライブ未公開作品を中心とした新作であり、
話はかぶってかぶるということはありませんでした。この点は評価できます。

しかし、タイトルに反して全然怖くない話が多かった。
怖い幽霊が出てくる作品がないのです。ぱっと人が消えてしまったとか、
後で実はこの人は死んでいたということがわかった程度なのです。
この本では「九州の旅館の話」と「ある絵の話」が良くできている作品ですが、
これらも稲川さんの以前の傑作と比べれば今ひとつの感があります。
他方、本年度に出版された「稲川淳二の最新・超怖い話―霊怪」 は
結構怖い話が入っていますので、こちらの方をお勧めします。
