残念ながら、正しいとは言えない内容です。レイアウトが見辛く、非常に読み難いですが、小学生の頃ならイラストがあって楽しめたかもしれません。

『三国志』（正史）を重視しているようですが、「演義」（通俗小説）に沿った構成になっていることに違和感を覚えます。かなり掻い摘んだトピックで章立てされているため、内容が飛びとびなのも残念です。また、正史と「演義」とを確り区別しているようで、第３章「軍師孔明の出現」など錯誤して書いている章があり、逆に混乱を招き兼ねない内容と言えます。

三国志内のそれなりに有名なエピソードについて順を追ってわかりやすく、時には
正史と三国志演義の違いを説明し、有名な武将の簡単なプロフィールも挟んでいます。
こういう歴史本の中には、年代順を無視してエピソードを章ごとにまとめ、前後関係が
わからなくなってしまう本もありますが、この本は非常に分かりやすいです。
まさに入門書ですね。
裏を返せばコアなファンにとっては非常に物足りないものになっています。
三国志に関する小説等を既に読んでいる方は、正史と三国志演義の違い程度しか
新たな発見は無いかもしれません。
しかし、ほとんど読んだことのない方にとっては、非常に分かりやすい入門書に
成りえると思うので、この機会に是非読んで貰いたい１冊です。

5.0 out of 5 stars 三国志解説本の中でイラストが一番かわいいです, 2005/2/9
数ある三国志解説本の中で、最も正史と演義をきっちり区別していてわかりやすい本です。
何よりも、登場人物のイラストが類書よりもかわいく、印象に残るので、「この人誰だったっけ？」ということもなくすいすい読めます。

随所に軽い笑いがはさまれており、例えば
「桃園の誓いはフィクションだった」という文章の後に、劉備・関羽・張飛の三人が驚いて振り向き「えー！いい話だったのに」とショックを受けているイラストなど。ほのぼのしているのが楽しいです。

三国志の流れをつかむだけなら本書一冊で十分です。
