浜名さんは、これまで中国・アジアの屋台など、食べ物紀行の著書を多く出しておられますが、今回は得意の「写真切り貼り」（失礼！）を中心とした台湾グルメのご紹介本です。

おいしそうな屋台料理、小吃（軽食）が網羅され、ほんとうに丹念なガイドになっています。台湾で、漢字からは意味がわからなくて二の足を踏んでしまうような料理も、これで予習ができるでしょう。いい加減な台湾ガイドブックが多い昨今、信頼できる本です。

屋台飯のガイドブックといってよいのではないでしょうか。
載っている料理の写真はどれもおいしそうで、思わず現地に行ってしまいました。帰ってきたらまた開いてみて、｢これ食べた、これも食べた」と復習です。
ただ見ると、また行きたくなってしまうのです。

うちの旦那・台湾人と付き合っていた頃に台湾を訪れた時、成田で購入し台湾に持って行きました。旦那は「この本を書いた人は、絶対台湾人でしょう！？」とその詳しさに驚いていましたが、片っ端から掲載のB級グルメの食堂・屋台へ連れて行ってもらいました。そして実際、最高においしい台湾を堪能できました。信用できる内容の本だと思います。
