著者の気持ちの勢いは伝わってきましたが、内容はインターネットや過去の書籍などでわかる情報がほとんど。また、著者の憶測には当時のヒット曲の内容に彼の状況・気持ちをなぞらえるなど無理があった。彼が作った詩ではないのに。写真やインタビューなどの新しい資料もなく、この値段も高すぎます。

サイトでのブログとしてだったら面白い。
しかし、活字になり縦書きの文章となってしまうと、押し付けがましさとこじつけとしか感じられなくなってしまうのは私だけだろうか？
事実を拾い読みするのには良いかもしれないが。

ジュリーこと沢田研二は、ほぼ私の親と同年代であり、また、当時幼稚園に通っていた私にはテレビでの彼の華麗な姿は、強烈なインパクトがあった。現在、Youtubeなどで彼の全盛期の映像を堪能できるようになったが、今の芸能界で彼と匹敵する程の色気と、それを裏付けする確かな歌唱力と表現力を合わせ持ったスターはいるのだろうか、と思ってしまった。
本書には、近年の、いたってマイペースで活動するジュリーの事も書かれており、長年芸能界という世界で踏んばってきた彼の努力や苦悩、選んだ道について、引きこまれるように読んだ。私は今、彼の全盛期の頃とだいたい同年代になって、彼の仕事の大変さをほんのすこしだけ理解できるような気がした。彼は今年還暦、同年代の方は定年を迎える方も多いはず。今はまるで自分の親父のように、『これからも、がんばってね、おとうさん』と言いたくなってしまった。そんな思いを持った本だった。
