応用情報技術者試験のために購入しました。

試験範囲の各項目は的確かつ詳細に紹介されているものの、項目ごとの解説は要点が明快ではないものが少なくありません。とはいえ、非常に分かりやすく書いてある項目もあり、総じて何回か読んで考えればよく理解できます。

ただ、何度も読むと理解が深まるものの、それをするには分厚すぎるため時間を大いに使います。
高度区分試験を受ける人か、何度かソフトウェア開発技術者試験を受けた人ならば、理解の足らない部分を集中して学習するための参考書としては本書は優秀だと思います。

ただし、初めて受ける方で時間も十分に取れない方は使いこなすのは厳しいかと思います。

　高度試験用の午前対策として購入しました。星５としたのは解説の文章が素晴らしいからです。各項目が短く要領よくまとまっており、非常に分かり易い良い文章です。問題の解説も図解を多用しており、理解しやすく考慮されています。試験に良く出る重要ポイントなどのアドバイスも親切です。付属の演習用ソフトは出題分野の選択等も可能で、使えます。分厚い本なので、私は持ち運びに便利なように３つに切り離しました。

非常に広い範囲を上手く網羅しており、これ１冊で合格圏に達することが可能であることは間違いありません。

しかし、基本情報技術者の資格を持っておらず、学校や職場でも情報工学を詳細に学んだ経験のない人にとっては難しい内容になっていると思います。稀にではありますが、情報系の専門用語が説明もなく用いられることがあったり、前提知識を必要とする場面が見受けられたからです。

また、内容が少し古いのが気になりました。例えばブルーレイディスクに関する記述がないどころか「今後はDVDの普及が進むことが考えられます」などというレトロな記述があったり、その他の新しく開発された技術についても、とってつけたかのように本の端に「参考」として小さく記述があるだけです。

上記の２点が残念であったのでこのような評価になっています。
