Webセーフカラーはブラウザによって色は変化しないので安心だけれど、所詮は216色しかなく、今ひとつ物足りない気がしていました。微妙な色合いも表現しづらいし……。けれど、フルカラーを使おうとすると、今度は逆に色が多すぎて、いったいどうすればいいのか見当もつかない、というジレンマに陥っていました。

この本は、まさに私が待っていた内容の本です。「色味」「調子」「イメージ」と3つの方向から配色の例を示してくれるので、すぐに好みの配色を見つけることができました。トーン別のカラー一覧や慣用色名一覧など資料も充実しているし、Webにかかわる人すべてが持っていて申し分ない本だと思います。

４つの色にて、ホームページのイメージを作成しています。
その４つの色のサンプルが本にたくさん載っています。

４色を選ぶ観点は以下の通りです。
1. 赤系、オレンジ系、黄色系、黄緑系、緑系、....といった色を基調色とし色の「共通性」、「対比」によって、表現したもの。
2. 明るい、鮮やか、暗い、濃い、....といった、色のトーンの観点で選んだもの。
3. さわやか、女らしい、神秘的な、可憐な、都会的なといったイメージで選んだもの。

これら以外に配色のヒントなどが載っています。
自身のHPの配色を変えたい方、配色の勉強をしたい方などにお勧めの一冊です。
