戸建て住宅をお持ちの方、購入、建築を検討されている方、床下産業に拘わる方、戸建て建築に拘わる業者の方々、すべてに必読の本だと思います。
シロアリの生態や食害対策に関する筆者の基本的考え方が述べられています。薬剤ばらまき型の画一的、マニュアル的な業者の防除方法について警鐘を鳴らします。具体的な対処方法についてはほとんど書かれていません。ですから、シロアリに悩まされている方がこの本を読んでも、簡単に対策が立てられるわけではありません。今後は対処方法に関する事例を沢山載せた続編を執筆して欲しいです。（企業秘密？！？）

大変学術的でさすがこの分野の第一人者という感じでした。
ただあらゆるシロアリ対策についてデメリットが書いてあり「じゃあ一体被害があったらどうしろというの！」というふうになってしまいました。
古い中古住宅のシロアリ対策の為に買ったのですが結局どんな対策をしても効果がないきがしてきました。

「Ａという被害のときはＡ’という対策を行ってＡ”という点に注意して」という実践的なものを求めていたので残念でした。というわけで私にとっては☆３つでした。
ただ床下のことについて勉強したい人には大変有益そうに感じました。

タイトルから連想されるような「欠陥住宅」についての本ではない。
内容はシロアリ百科事典といった赴きであり、筆者のシロアリとその対策に対する情熱が伝わってくる。
怪しいシロアリ業者と戦うための理論武装用に最適である。
