それぞれが様々な経験を通して母になったこと、母であることを許してくれる本だと思いました。私の子宮が「そうだったよね」と泣いたような気がしました。
娘に読んで聞かせると、自分が誕生する「旅」を少しでも思い出そうと目をキラキラさせていました。それでいいんだと思いました。
子どもにとっても、自分がここにいることを「いいんだよ」と言ってくれる本なんだと思います。

読みきかせグループの本を探している時に見つけました。少し大人向けかな？と思ったのですが、子供でも十分理解できる言葉で書かれていて、孫に読んであげると、とても喜んでいました。普通の言葉で命の誕生が主体的に書かれているのにびっくり。母と子の絆、命の大切さ、尊さをもう一度考えさせられる素敵な本でした。

生命の最初の最初のお話。この世に生れ落ち、ひとりの人間として生きているというのにこれまで意識したことがありませんでした。
人に限らずですが、命を授かり今に「在る」当たり前の現実の前には到底人智の及ばない神秘がある。
温かく優しい絵のタッチには、その旅は長くて困難だけれど必ず誰かが見守り待っていてくれる心強さが感じられました。
なにかつらいことがあってもこうして私はここにいる、と勇気づけられるような本です。
これからお母さんになる方や、育児中の方、それから男性にも読んでもらいたいです。
いつかこどもたちがこの本を手にして、自分の最初の最初に思いを馳せてくれたら嬉しいですね。
