キレイな表紙に惹かれてこの本を購入した。著者の植田・妻鳥両氏については、予備知識はゼロだったのですが、これは当たりでした。

音声編（リズム、イントネーション）から、ボキャブラリ（類似語の使い分け）、基本動詞の使い方、英語の発想トレーニング、前置詞、時制、助動詞、描写方法、論理展開、勉強法と、これだけ網羅されている英語スピーキングの本に初めて出会いました。

私はＴＯＥＩＣ８４０点なのですが、本書のレベルは結構高く、かなり学ぶべきところがあると感じました。本書は、英語はそこそこできすが、スピーキングには自身がないというような、中級者（ＴＯＥＩＣ７００~９００）向けなのではないかと思います。

高校生位になるまで日本で過ごした殆どの日本人にとっては、スピーキングはもはや致命的な欠陥と言えるかもしれません。広くみれば米国人は、スピーキングが出来ない人には比較的冷たい国でもありますので、学校生活を送りたい人は勿論の事、ビジネスに英語が必要な方にもおすすめです。

ターゲットは、おおよそベーシックなグラマーが身についているであろう英語中級者位からになると思います。著者の別著「英語で意見を論理的に伸びる」との大きな違いとしては、本書が総合的なスピーキングアップをターゲットにしているのに対し、「英語で~」はよりフォーマルな場での会話を意識したものであるという事です。

特に会話に使われる頻度の高い単語もまとめてあり、私も含め多くの単語を闇雲に覚えがちではありますが、そこに絞って覚えることで、本当に必要な語彙を理解する事が可能です。グラマーも“役にたつ”事が凝縮されており、変に多くを暗記という事でなし、知っている知識を再理解するという事を通しスピーキング力をupするという点で、優れていると思います。またボキャビルであったり、シャドーイングについても著者なりの方法が解説してあります。

日常会話レベルを超えてからの、英語力不足を痛感するであろう留学中の方や、ビジネスで実際に英語を使って活躍されてる方に特におすすめしたい著書です。

やっぱり構成上たくさんの問題点がありそうです。説明の無い造語がいきなり出てきたりします。
前置詞のイメージ説明も、ジャンプ、が多く、理解に苦しみます。
その他、目新しいこともありません。
