本書の最大の特長は、灘中、開成中、麻布中、ラ・サール中といった
最難関校の入試問題を、「中学入試の問題」としてではなく、あくまで
「パズル」として紹介していることにあると思います。

もちろん、そういった最難関校の入試問題は、かなり難しいのですが、
本書は易しい問題から始まり、少しずつ難しくなり、気付いたら入試
問題が解けている、という作りになっています。（たとえば、１問目の
慶應義塾普通部の問題には、ステップとなる問題が７題あります。）

題材となっている入試問題は、どれも「難しいけれど、面白い」という
ものばかりです。また、たとえば「灘中の問題が解けた」という経験は、
大人が思っている以上に、子供にとっては達成感がありますし、自信
にもつながります。

私は中学受験生に算数を教える仕事をしていますが、本書のような
「入試問題を題材とするパズル教材」を活用することで、難関校入試
で要求される「柔軟な思考力」は、効果的に高められると思います。

受験算数って難しい!

大人は数学(方程式や関数の文字式)で解き、小学生は算数(数字と＋−×÷)で解く。
だから大人は答えは言えても、教えることはできない。
市販の問題集は「途中の考え方」がなくて「答えだけ」というものも少なくない。

文字を使わずに受験算数を解く、その過程がわかりやすく書かれています。

私も塾で子供たちを指導しています。
勉強というのは覚えたり書きなぐったりして、悩んだり苦しんだりすることもあります。
けど根本的には楽しまなくちゃって思います。新しい問題に直面した時にワクワクすることも勉強の魅力です。
この本は中学受験用ではありますが、パズルを通して楽しみながら頭を柔らかくし、そして入試問題に取り組んでいける教材です。
自分自身の指導にも参考にさせていただきたいのですが、ぜひおうちで親子で学んでほしいなぁと思いました。かなりハードなのにかなり楽しめます。
