5.0 out of 5 stars 「遅すぎた救い」の残酷さ, 2008/6/6
この本を最初に読んでいたら、私は山野一のファンにならなかったと思います。

「どぶさらい劇場」はギャグがあることで多少のカタルシスを得られるのに対し、こちらは暗くて荒い絵柄でギャグもなく陰鬱な展開が延々と続きます。

そして最後に訪れる「遅すぎた救い」には、無慈悲なままで終わるよりもある意味残酷でしょう。この辺に作者の底意地の悪さが見え隠れしてます。

この漫画は、常に物事を楽観的に考えてる人にこそ読んでもらいたい。
一発で人間不信に陥ること受け合いだから。

元印刷工の私にとって、これほど感情移入できる漫画は他にありませんでした。
読むたびに工場労働者になるというのはこういうことなんだなと、改めて実感させてくれます。
願わくば、いつの日かこの漫画を他人事として受け止められるようになりたいです。

例えばモーパッサンなどの作家が描く悲劇的・虚無的な人の一生を更に
黒く塗りつぶしたような、完璧に救いのない人生がこの漫画で描かれています。
僕はこの漫画を読み、現在自分が営んでいる平穏無事な毎日がいかに
素晴らしいかを痛感してしまいます（下手な教訓を聞くより、これを読んだ方がよっぽど
効くでしょう）。
この漫画が痛みと共に鮮烈な印象を残す理由、それは巻末の解説で根本敬が
指摘していた通り、作者である山野一が自らの感性を曲げる事をせず
また心の暗部に自然と惹かれていたからでしょう。
劇中、主人公であるたけしが度重なる不幸により精神が破綻しかけている
状態の中で夜中に下水道の秘密基地を訪れ、下水にボルトを
投げ入れながら幸せな生活を思い描くシーンがあります。
闇に寄り添い、静かに朽ちる時の流れを感じる。最も素晴らしく、また唯一
この漫画の中で優しさを感じるシーンです。僕はこの部分の描写に
触れるだけでもこの作品を読む価値があると思いました。
