小学生たちが頑張って商売をします。それが実にすがすがしいんです。汗を流して、いろんなことを考えて、達成したときの喜びが素直に表れています。こういう小学生たちがたくさん育ってくれればな、と思います。あと、主人公はクラスの人気者の、何でも出来てしまう子ではありません、一癖も二癖もある子たちでも、何かをやり遂げて、そして誰かの胸を打つことも出来るんです。最高の話だと思います。

怪盗Xシリーズと並ぶほどの出色の出来。
私はもういい大人だが、甥に読ませる為に購入し、今なお面白かった。
改めて大人の目で見ると、内容はなかなか危なっかしい。
小学生が株式会社を経営してクラスメイトから出資を募るばかりでなく、
小学生がビール(酒!)を売ったり、ラーメン(食べ物!)を販売したりする。
「リョーシキあるオトナ」が読めば盛んな投書ができ上がりそうだが、
むしろそこに痛快さが宿る。
と思うのは私に良識がないのか、大人ではないからなのか。
もちろん、子どもにお金や株券を握らせて、
ひたすら儲けさせて終わる那須正幹氏ではない。
お金というものへのスタンスについて、株式会社とは対極にある放浪画家を登場させ、
お金を「主体的に」持とうとしないライフスタイルを敢えて描くことで、
経済のそれとは別の価値観を提示している。

児童むけで経済を扱ったものというと、
汗水垂らして働く父母を連想しやすくした教訓もの、
労働の尊さを説く教訓ものになりがちであろう。
ところが本作は、自らの「儲け」の為に汗水垂らして働き、
苦労を噛みしめつつ、その労働の充実感を味わう。
このことは、より経済の本質を穿っているといえる。
こういった作者のスタンスは、本質であるだけに十分肯定されていい。
「小学生に金の話はまだ早い」と思ってらっしゃるご父兄の方、
決してそんなことはありません。
この本がいい見本です。

さまざまな方がズッコケ三人組の面白さについて語っているが、この作品には、私の思うズッコケ三人組の魅力「爽快感」にあふれていると思う。
必ずしも、彼らは大成功を収めない。宝くじの一等に当たったり、悪の親玉をこてんぱんにやっつけたり、など小学生にはむりなことだ。

だが、彼らは小学生でも可能かもしれないという、「小」成功を収めることが多い。
｢問題提起」→「内容をかき混ぜて」→「大団円」がパターン化されている。
と思うと、まったく違う展開になるところも、シリーズを通じての魅力でもある。
小学校中学年向けとして、紹介されることが多いが、文章は高学年にもしっかりと読める。読んで聞かせれば、低学年でも面白いと思うだろう。
恥ずかしながら、私はもう成人してしまった身だが、いまだに、買い続け愛読している。
それだけの魅力を持ったシリーズなのである。
