著者はランジェリー・デザイナー（実際にはファッション・デザイナー）として有名なシャンタル・トーマスです。レビューには“思い切りナルシストに・・・”とありますが、奇抜な服装を提唱しているのではなく、ＴＰＯに合わせたファッションを提案しています。その“ＴＰＯ”の分類はとても細かく、例えば、オフィスでの服装ひとつ取っても、一般的なアドバイスの他に、冷房が効いていない職場、外勤職の場合などについてそれぞれ書かれてあり、語り口はユーモアを交えているので楽しく読めると思います。どこかボーダーレスになってきている日本人のファッション傾向からすれば、“服装におけるマナー本”と言えるかも。普通のファッション本(?)と異なるのは、やはりランジェリーについてのアドバイスが豊富なところ。下着自体の項目もありますが、それ以外にも要所・要所で言及されています。またメイクやヘアーについて、それから身体的な特徴を活かすアドバイスもあり、盛りだくさんな内容です。

　この本を購入したのは約５年前。
　目が開かれる思いで読みました。
　５年たった今でも、全くその感想は色あせていません。
　むしろ、ファッションの根本精神を見直すという意味で、何度も読み返してしまいます。
　これぞ、ファッション指南書のお見本です。
　この本を読んでからは、全く違う角度からファッション雑誌を見ることができるようになりました。
