自信をつけたり、成功するためのノウハウ本は山ほどあって、「こうすれば上手く行く」方法を書いています。でも、本の通りにできなかったり、自分の本心は納得していなかったり、それをするのが苦しかったり、状況は本とは違ったり…
人がどう思うかと考え、苦しいから「上手く行く方法」を探す。けれど、どの本も違うことを書いている。こっちの本に合わせれば、あっちの本は違うことを言う。
人がどう言うか、という悩みが、本に何と書いてあるか、の悩みに替わるだけ。

良く考えたら、そういう本はみんな、「こうすれば上手く行く」、つまり「こうしていないから失敗するんだ」とマイナスの点をつついている点で、共通しています。

でもこの本は、無いものを探してそれをやれとは言わず、今すぐ等身大の自分が実行できることばかり書いています。
自分が自分らしく成長して、それでいいんだ、と思える勇気と励ましを与えてくれる本です。
人は天から与えられたギフト。自分も天から与えられたギフト。
人だけでなく、自分だけでなく、人も自分も大切にできる世界に希望が持てる、そんな本です。

こういう人たちには、是非おすすめです（本の帯に書いてあった）：

結構、いろんな能力やスキルがあるのに、
自分に自信がない人って、多いですよね。。

アメリカ人の「リスペクト（他尊）」って考え、いいですね。

日本人も、こういうふうに、
自分の中の小さなグッド・ポイントを見つけて、
それをのばしていければ、いいのに。。

他人の評価とか、世間の目を気にするんじゃなくて、
自分が、本当に好きなこと、無心に取り組めることを
ベストをつくして、磨き上げてゆけば、
もっとHappyな人生が送れるんじゃないかなぁ〜。。

「自分には、特別な才能なんかない」とか
他の人と比べて落ち込みがちな人にこそ、
読んでほしい本だなぁ〜と、思います。

本業は牧師の著者が、日本ではあまり語られることのない「賜物」という概念を説き明かしてゆきます。アメリカに長く暮らされていたため、日本人を考察する視点がおもしろく、発見に満ちています。「希望を語らせたら、右に出るもののいない」著者が書かれた「新刊」ということでわくわくして手に取り一気に読み進みました。

自分の性格と、そして自分の強さを発見することのできるおすすめの一冊です。賜物(ギフト)に気づく 幸福に気づく
