「闘いにおいては全ての才能を動員する必要がある」
そんな言葉で始まる「ファイターズハート」を読んだ。
ＮＨＫの朝ドラ「だんだん」で30代後半の父親が娘のためにボクシングを
する場面があり、この連続ドラマで最高に興奮し感動した。映画やテレビの「252」のハイパーレスキュー隊員が絶体絶命、極限状態の人を救うのも鍛え
あげた肉体と強いハートである。
この本でムエタイ、柔術、ボクシング等々で闘うことの奥義に近づこうとする
ファイターズの迫力に感動した。肉体を鍛える時間や興味がなくても、
ハートはいつも「ロッキー」でいたい。

　自分は格闘技に対する特別な興味も関心もありません。
無差別殺人や理由のない乱暴の存在に平成の世の現代と将来を危惧します。
　そのような謂れのない力に遭遇したとき、偶発する事件に対処する時、自分の心と身体はどうあればいいのか不安です。
　「闘うことは思索することだ」とこの本の帯に書かれています。
ファイターがパンチを放つのは、外に向かって攻撃的になることではない。どんな状況になっても諦めない姿勢、勇気、ハンデをアドバンテージに転ずるメンタリテイ、強い精神を身につけ、己を知ることが大切なのだ。この本の随所に心と身体を強くする思索的な言葉が溢れている。作者や訳者が伝えようと意図したことと方向違いな読み方をしているのかも知れませが、自分にはこの異色の格闘技ノンフィクションが心に響く非常に思索的な本でした。面白かった。
