　経営学の入門書としては素晴らしい出来です。経営全般について総合的に書かれているため、自分が今まで会社というものに対していかに無知であったかを痛感しました。本書の特によいと思った点を３つ上げると1)説明が整理されており明確なので、読みやすく面白い。2)経営は複雑であり変化に富み生き物であることが実感できる。3)経営とはその国の社会性や構造に大きく影響されることが分かる、などです。本書では特に2)が最も興味深いのですが、個人的には3)が本書の重要性を高めていると思います。それはその国にはその国に合った経営の仕方が少なからず必要であるからです。名著と呼ばれる経営書は欧米のものが多いですが、日本社会に合ったマネジメントを研究し発表され、それが日本の社会に影響を与えるようになって欲しいと本書を読んでいて思いました。経営学初心者の方はこの本を読む前と後では会社に対する見方が大きく変わっていると思います。

本書のいい点は、著者独自の視点が盛り込まれていることに尽きると思います。入門書にありがちな通り一遍な理論の解説にとどまらず、著者がそれをかなり噛み砕いたうえで執筆していることが読むとすぐにわかります。個性的な入門書です。

しかしながら、そのいい点が逆に諸刃の剣でもあり、噛み砕いたがゆえに、初学者には内容をわかりにくくしているのも事実です。思うに、まるっきりの経営学初学者が読むというよりも二冊目の経営学入門の本、もしくは授業などで教員の解説つきで読むという位置づけが適当だと思います。そうすれば本書に書かれたことがさらによく理解できるでしょうし、著者の視点として新たな発見があると思います。

経営学初学者は榊原清則先生の日経文庫から出版されている経営学入門上下巻や英語の本ですがMorgen WitzelのManagement : The Basicsなどで経営学の感じをつかんだらいいのではないでしょうか。

ただ個人的には、この種の基本的な本はある程度信用のおける内容のものを数回読んできちんと理解したほうがいいと思っているので、少しクセのある本書を二冊目に読むよりも、あまり有名な本ではないかもしれませんが柴田悟一・中橋国蔵先生の「経営管理の理論と実際」を二冊目に読むといいのではと思います。この本はけっこう厚く扱う内容も広いですが中身はかなりしっかりしています。ともあれ、とりあえず有名な先生が書いた本だから中身も良いだろうし、とりあえず買う・読むというよりも、きちんと中身を評価すべきではないかと思いました。
