老舗の和菓子店＜福桜堂＞に勤める絢部あかりは、
和菓子職人で工場長でもある父のように和菓子に対し情熱や執着はなく、
会社が倒産したので臨時の気持ちで勤めている。
そんなあかりが＜ショコラ・ド・ルイ＞で遭遇した万引き事件から、
ショフ長峰と知り合う。
そこから様々なお菓子や人間関係が登場するのだけれど、
この本はどうにも口の中においしさが広がってたまらない。
個人的には２４６ページに登場するオペラに悶絶してしまった。
スウイーツ好き、ショコラ好きには、眩暈を催す描写連続に覚悟が必要かもしれません。

老舗和菓子屋さんの看板娘・あかりさんとクールで冷静な天才ショコラティエ・長峰さんが
スイーツにまつわるちょっとした謎を解いていくお話です。

表紙は作品のイメージそのままチョコレート色。
本当に美味しそうなスイーツがたくさんでてきてヨダレが・・・。
嬉しいことに和菓子屋さんと洋菓子屋さんがどっちもでてくるので、和洋どちらのお菓子も楽しめるのが幸せ(^_^)

読んでいるうちにどうしても二人のラブな展開を期待しちゃうんだけど、そう簡単に甘〜い展開にいかないのがミソ。
甘すぎるスイーツより、ちょっと甘さ控えめの大人の上品な味わいの方がある方が美味しく感じるように、
単純にあまーくならないビターな二人の関係が作品の雰囲気にピッタリマッチしています。
ほどよい甘み＋苦味がとっても読みやすいミステリーでした。

美味しそうなスイーツがたくさん出てくる中、いちばん食べたいのはルイのチョコレートパフェ！！！
アイスクリームの原料やカカオにこだわっているから1300円もするんだけど、チョコレート屋さんのパフェ、どーしても食べてみたい！
でも、ルイの夏季限定のテイクアウトアイスクリームも捨てがたいなぁ。
ストーリーそのものだけでなく、出てくるスイーツの美味しそうな描写だけでも十分楽しめる。
スイーツはあくまで脇役のはずなんだけど、主役級に存在感がありました。

これを読む時は手元に甘いお菓子を準備しておくことをお勧めします。
面白かったというよりは、美味しい気分にさせてくれる本でした。ごちそーさまでしたっ(^o^)／
