読書40年，これほど面白い本を読んだことがない。
ナマコを尊敬する博士のナマコ学は，ナマコに留まらず，
lifeという語の3つの側面（「生命」「生活」「人生」）について楽しく考えさせてくれる。問答形式になっているので，生物学の初心者でもすいすい読める。写真を眺めているだけでも想像力がふくらんで嬉しい。最後はやっぱり歌で締めたか。こういう教師に習ってみたかったなあ。

ちなみに，この方の本は「生きものは円柱形」「歌う生物学」など，どれをとっても画期的。高校の「生物II」以上の内容なので，実は相当難しい内容だが，それを感じさせないままどんどん深みにはまらせる，著者の工夫やユーモアには脱帽。

「ゾウの時間ネズミの時間」で本川達雄ワールドに触れた方ならきっと微笑まずにはいられない、著者の専門ばりばりのナマコオンパレード！文体はかなりくだけていますが、それは本当にわかりやすくするため。人間とは全く違う世界と価値観に生きるナマコを知ることは、世界のさまざまな人々と共に生きていく知恵に繋がるからこそ、生物学ファンとダイバー以外の人にも楽しく読んで欲しいのです。教訓ももちろんあるけれど、オールカラーのナマコグラビアが背中で愛を語ります。筒型生物が苦手でもきっと大丈夫。播きもせず刈りもしないのに生きている、そんな彼等の多様性とファンキーさにヤラレて下さい。（もちろん「歌」２曲ついてます。お楽しみに）

難しい本かと思っていたら、易しかったです。
ナマコってなんでもありだなぁ。忙しく働く人類を嘲笑うかのようにひっそりと生息するナマコ。そのパワーは計り知れないのです。
この偉大なる地味生物の生き様から学ぶことは沢山あるのです。
昨日までナマコなんて興味なかったけど、世の中にはまだまだ面白いものが沢山あるんだなぁ。よし、もっと調べてみよう。と感じるキッカケになると思います。
一生に一回くらいはナマコに興味もってみてもいいんじゃないかな。
