エロ漫画編集者としては、知る人ぞ知る塩山芳明氏。その氏の1990年〜2005年までの、なんと15年間にわたる毒舌日記が本書。一般的には知られることのない塩山氏だが、何の知識のない人でも出版業界に興味さえあれば、一気に読み終われる楽しい内容（傍から見れば）。
ただし、できるなら、塩山氏の編集者としてのすごさ（MATEやレモンクラブなどを見ればビシビシと伝わってくる）を知ってから、本書を読んだほうが、なお楽しめる。毒舌は味付けで、その中に隠されたエロ漫画編集者としてのプライド、悲哀、その他もろもろがなんともいえない。エロ漫画編集者として、娘の行く末を案じる姿などは、とってもリアリティがある。

毒を吐いているのに愛されるタイプというか、罵詈雑言のテクストが不愉快な気持ちにさせない仕上がり。
でも、実際、身近にいたら大変そうな方ですね。
華やかに見える編集業界を違った角度から見るにも最適である。

大手出版社や取次ぎに纏るオフレコ話を期待したが、結局は著者本人の日記・・と言うよりもメモを羅列しただけの本。やはり今の出版流通業界で本音を吐露したら生きていけないんだろうな・・と、実感させられました。
