無駄だと思いつつ買ったが，とても役にたちました。10月の中旬ごろに読んで，部屋を片付けてみたら，いまだにとてもきれい！片付けって，単なる行動ではなくて，ものの見方，考え方の問題でもあるんだ，ということがわかり，今までの片付け方とすこし違ってきた。今までいくら片付けてもすぐ散らかっていたのが，うそのようです。直接関係はない，とは思うが，なんだか仕事もうまく行きだし，勉強もはかどり。。。なんだかいい気分です。本を読んで，だめもとで一つでも実行してみよう！という素直な方にはお勧め！「確固たる自分」を持っている方にはあまり効果ないかも!?

耳の痛いタイトルです。でも読まずにはいられませんでした。
そして読んだら、「私が本当にやりたいこと」や「なりたい自分」が見えてきて、何を改善したら良いのかが明らかになりました。

この本は、身の回りの乱雑な空間を片づけるためだけでなく、自己の乱雑な心の中も片づけるための本です。

面倒だと思いがちなことも「どうせやることになるんだから、今すぐやってしまおう！」と考えるようになりました。

4.0 out of 5 stars 原書のタイトルと日本のタイトルがだいぶ違う, 2004/9/19
散らかして、整理整頓しないのは、深層心理も含めて、特に両親のスタイルからの悪影響が原因であるなど、鋭く分析をしている。原因はなにか、そして自分はどうなりたいかがわからないと、そして本当にホトホト困らないと、人間は日々の習慣を改善しないものであることがこれでもかと繰り返されている。その原因解明と人生自体の目標設定がはっきりしないと、「ただそのとき一生懸命するだけではだめですよ」と指摘している。それで原題を直訳すれば、鍵になるものを発見できなければ、違うようには出来ませんよ。あるいは変われませんよ。ということになる。日本語のタイトルは一般化しすぎている様で、焦点がぼやけていないか心配。あるいは露骨に「鍵」という言い方が自分の暗部をえぐりだすことになり、気分不良になるのを防ぐためのものなのか不明。
整理整頓は手段であって、人生の目標ではない。こうなりたいためには机も整理整頓できて、洗濯物もたたんで、食器もすぐに洗った方がゴールに早く近づくことがわかってないとそれらが続かないことは、納得しました。単身赴任中なので特に。
