編集者の感覚が悪いのか？　なんだか言葉のセンスが古いというか、解説は中途半端だしそれほどおしゃれというわけでもないし、全体的に非常に中途半端。ガイドブックにするには不十分だが、他にないのでしょうがないという感じ。地図の縮尺感覚がおかしいので、図面を見て工程の計画を立てづらい。迷いやすい。編集素人の作った物という感じ。

イタリアは主に３都市を訪問しただけですので、全体の評価はできません。

ただ、ベネチアに行った際には、仕事が終わった後で、地球の歩き方を参考に、
協会などで開催している夕方の無料または安価なコンサートへ行くことができました。

たまたま、日本人のバイオリニストの演奏でしたが、協会で聞くバイオリンの響きの良さに感激しました。

また、ベネチアに行った際に、ボローニャの大学へ調査に鉄道で行ったときも、
降りる駅を確かめるのに、地球の歩き方とにらめっこです。

鉄道は国によっては、駅名をアナウンスする国と、
アナウンスしても、地元なまりなので聞き取れない場合があり、
降りる駅を間違えたら、悲惨です。

その日のうちに、戻る電車がない場合もあるからです。
幸い、そのような間違いは今までありませんでしたが、
一駅ごとに駅名を確かめるのは苦労します。

国によっては、駅名の表示が何カ所にもなく、車窓からは見あたらないこともあるからです。

バーリでの仕事に行ったときには、鉄道で数駅先しかホテルが取れず、
毎日鉄道で通いました。

ある日、急いでいたので駅までタクシーで行ったときに、大事なものをタクシーに忘れてしまいました。
幸い、ホテルから呼んだタクシーだったので、ホテルにタクシー会社に連絡してもらったら、まだタクシーの中に残っていて、無事帰ってきたことがあります。
そのとき、実は、一駅先まで行ってから気がついて、また鉄道で戻ってということをしました。

鉄道のダイヤは見方がわからないところがあり、駅員の方にいろいろ聞きながら戻ってきました。

海外に出ると、不測の事態に、何をどうしたらいいか頭がパニックになってしまうことがあります。
そういう際に、普段読み慣れた言語（日本語）での情報を持ち歩いていることは、すごく心強いものです。
