渋沢栄一が折りにふれて述べた含蓄の深い言葉の数々を収録しています。それぞれの文章は短くてまるで論語のようです。惜しむらくは一般にそれほど注目されていないことでしょうか。僕は渋沢栄一の思想は現代でも有効に通用するものだと思います。

個人的には細切れの言葉の断片ではなくて竜門雑誌に掲載された渋沢栄一の文章を一切省略なしで読みたい。渋沢栄一全集が出版されたらいいなと思います。もちろん正字正かなを希望します。この本の評価を星ひとつ落としたのはそのためです。

大東亜戦争に敗れ東京裁判を受けいれ、未だ右往左往することが多い日本ではありますが、渋沢栄一の思想に触れ、あるべき姿の日本に立ち返ろうではありませんか。
