今度は検視官のお話です。
さすがは横山さんですね。
精緻な描写、巧妙なストーリー展開は相変わらずです。
また、主人公の倉石をはじめとする登場人物の“人間臭さ”も見事に描かれていますね。
警察という世界の、また違った一面を見せてくれた素晴らしい小説です！

余人の及ばない卓越した技術を持ち、終身検視官と呼ばれる倉石警視。
どんな小さなことも見逃さない倉石の冷徹とも言える観察眼は、同時に被害者に注がれる優しい眼差しとなる。
短編集なので、一つ一つの作品は独立しているにもかかわらず、長編を読むような読み応えを感じさせるのは、
倉石の検死官としての筋の通った生き様が全編を通して強烈な印象を残すからにほかならない。
殺伐とした事件風景を描きながら、仄かな温もりさえ感じさせる秀逸な短編集である。

短編を一冊にまとめたものであるが、長編に匹敵するくらい面白いし読み応えがある。型破りな警察官（検視官）が主役であるが、実に魅力的な人物として描かれている。
長編では殺伐としたストーリーであっても最後に心温まる情景が描かれるが、本書は短編にもかかわらず最後に心が暖かくなるストーリーが用意されているものが多い。
ページを追うごとに著者の倉石検視官に対する愛情が感じられる。
続編を期待したいが、最終話の流れからすると実現されそうにないのが残念である。



ドラマ化されるとのことで編集しました。
読後にドラマ化するなら。。。とイメージした俳優さんがいます。
寺島進さんがぴったりではないかと思っていましたが、テレビ朝日でドラマ化されるそうですが内野聖陽さん主演だそうです。少々残念ですが、興味のある方はお読みください。
冷酷かと思えば限りなく優しい。。。そんな素敵な検視官が主人公です。
