当方、女です。
わかりやすいの一言です。
萌え系漫画？の絵で　周囲の目が気になりましたが
そんなこといってられません、わかりやすい本を探していたのですから。
◆これが開いてみるとわかりやすい
　例題がとっかかりやすい
　具体的な例もわかりやすい
　初歩の人間がつまずきがちなところも鋭く突っ込んでくれている

親切な妖精が指導してくださいます。
こんな妖精がいたら・・・と思いましたｗ

他の方のレビューにもあるように正規化の概念は今まで読んだ関連書籍の中で一番でした。
特に、第二、第三あたりですね。
私にとってＳＱＬもこれが一番スッと入れました
（もちろん初級者レベルですが）

データベースで作業をこれからしたい
特にアクセスとエクセルの違いさえ全くわからないのに
管理を任された人には　うってつけだと思います
何事も最初の理解、基礎、基本は大切で　星五つ以上!

データベース解説と漫画の内容がうまく合ってる。
ただ、文章部分がふつうのデータベース解説本と同じような記述なので、
せっかく「マンガでわかる」シリーズなのだから、もう一工夫欲しかった。
しかし読み込めば初級シスアド合格レベルの力は身につきます。
実際この本だけで合格した人もいるので、初シス未取得で興味のある人は
チャレンジしてみてはいかがでしょうか？

データベースの概念を理解する入門書として、もしくは概念を手軽に思い出す本として、お薦めできる本です。
中身は、萌えるマンガが半分、分かりやすい解説が半分、という感じ。マンガの分量が多くて読み進めやすいです。

これ1冊でデータベースの基礎をすべて理解することは無理でしょうが、データベースの学習に取りかかるための最初の1冊としては、楽しく読み進められるので、かなり良いと思います。マンガだけでなく、マンガの後にある解説もわかりやすい文章です。各章末には簡単な練習問題も付いているので、理解できたかどうか試すこともできます。

マンガは、果物が豊富に取れるコッド王国のお姫様の話。商品部・外国部・輸出部が別々にデータを管理してるので、お姫様の仕事が大変…という背景。そこで、外遊に出てる王様が秘術書を送ってきて、開けてみたら、データベースについて教えてくれる妖精のティコちゃんが出てきます。
萌えつつデータベースを勉強したい初心者には、良い本です。
もちろん、萌えたいと思わない人にもお勧めですが、データベースを学び始めたくて、なおかつ萌えたい人には、一石二鳥な本でしょう。
