5.0 out of 5 stars ある意味１冊目の新改訳として（重いけど）, 2008/11/19
通常の新改訳聖書は、とにかく活字が細かいです。限られた紙面に参照聖句の指示や若干の解説が掲載されているのが理由です。ただ、聖書を読み始めたばかりの方には、その注をフル活用するありがたみは実感できないでしょう（僕もいまだにそのレベルです）。
そこで、このチェーン式。重い。値段が高い。でも、聖書初心者が訳文を理解するためにとりあえず必要な情報が満載です。とはいえ、この情報ですらも、さらに聖書を学んでいったら、不十分と感じる日が来るにちがいありません。
「チェーン式は、もう少し勉強してから」というのは間違いです。お財布に少しでも余裕があったら、即購入です！外出時は、小型版を携帯して、家では、チェーン式！
定期購読しているディボーション雑誌に載っている解説なんかもどんどん書き込んじゃいましょう。１年もしたら、あなただけの聖書辞典のできあがりです。

新改訳聖書は、NASB（New American Standard Bible）の発行元であるLockman財団の資金援助により成立した福音主義に基づく聖書である。もちろんApocrypha(共同訳にいう続編）付きの版は無い。原義に忠実(literal)な訳を期しているため、若干解説を要する面もある。それを補ってくれるのが、チェーン式聖書だろう。ある種のStudy Bibleで、聖句を詳解しているので、聖書を読む際のガイドになる。

聖書を通読していて、難解な言葉に悩まされることが多いのですが、このチェーン式聖書は脚注で基礎的な知識や疑問点が解決できるように工夫がなされています。また正典66巻の書物の巻頭に緒論がつけられ、書物の書かれた背景や内容について簡単な解説があり、付録が充実していて聖書本文と聖書事典が一冊になっている便利でありがたい（笑）「聖書」です。本文のみを繰り返し読むのもいいのですが、主観的な読み方を避ける意味でも初心者の方にぜひお勧めしたいです。
