もっとアキの内面を掘り下げてほしかった。

「なんとなく書いてみました」っていうのが見えて、作品的にはいまいち。
ギャングであるが故のクールさを狙ったのかもしれないが、ヒートアイランドやワイルドソウルから感じた熱がまったくといっていいほど伝わらなかったのが残念。


とりあえず、サウダージに期待。

「ヒートアイランド」の続編ですね。

二十歳になったアキが柿沢・桃井からアウトローで生きる人間として教育されていく状況が描かれています。
ギャングとしてのスキルもさることながら、アキが完全にこのチームに馴染みきっていない様子が描かれていまるので、ヒートアイランドで見せた一部の隙も無い柿沢・桃井コンビの動きと好対照になっているのが面白いです。

ギャングとして成長したアキが登場する次回作が、待ち遠しいです。

いずれ読もうと思っていたのだが、文庫化されたので渡りに船と呼んでみた。「ヒートアイランド」の続編という位置づけなので、「ヒートアイランド」を読んでからでないと、あまり面白くないかもしれない。クライムノベルなのかハードボイルドなのかジャンルがよく分からないが、題名のとおり、「ヒートアイランド」で主人公だったアキがいっぱしのギャングスターに育っていくまでの過程を書いている。章立てもレッスンの進化に合わせて「裏戸籍」「試走」「実射」「予行演習」「実戦」となっている。それなりに楽しめるが、続編ものの常で、やはり一作目の方が面白かった。なお、この後「サウタージ」という三作目につながっていくが、面白さという点では三作目で盛り返しているのではないか。文庫であればという前提でこの本も買って損はないだろう。
