これは息子（4歳）の大のお気に入りの一冊です。
もちろん私も大好き。

言葉はほんの少ししかないので、読み聞かせというより、
「これみて！」「このカエルはこっちではここだよね」「こんなことしてる~！？」
と思わずページの続き具合や絵の細部をなめるように観てしまう…
そんな絵本です。
何回ひらいても飽きなくて、そのたびにこの不思議ワールドにひきこまれて
カエルと一緒に遊泳してしまいます。

ウィーズナーは語り過ぎないようにみせて、実は非常に雄弁な絵本作家だと思います。
続編もありますが、私はこれが一番好きかな。
続編というのはどんな作品もむずかしいですものね。
大人も充分楽しめるので、この絵本は友達へのプレゼントの常連です。

カエル好きな四歳の息子。レビューを見て購入してみました。
お話が無いけど面白いのかな・・・？と見せてみると
「面白い！」と大絶賛。きれいな絵とカエルのなんとも豊かな表情がいいようです。特にカエル好きではない、ストーリー物が好きな私が見ると「？」な本ですが、子供には受ける要素がしっかりと詰まっているようです。ちなみに夫は大絶賛でした。

とんでもない出来事が絵本になっちゃった、そんな印象の、ユーモアたっぷりの絵本です。
カエルが空を飛ぶ、奇想天外なストーリーに、絵本は、子供の想像力を育む、素晴らしいものだということを改めて感じさせてくれます。
ちゃんとオチがあるところも楽しめます。
