少年サンデーに掲載された「あやめにお手上げ！」シリーズをはじめとする、伊藤伸平先生の初期作品集。他に「天使のボディーガード」「KITTY SQUAD」「ファイアー・ガール」などを収録。

「あやめに~」は西洋文化を取り入れながら独自の発達を遂げつつある大正時代の日本で、当時としては実に先進的な主人公矢崎あやめが、探偵事務所を設立してさまざまな難事件を解決(?)していくという、どたばたアクションコメディ。伊藤氏独自のノリがあちこちで炸裂し、マニアなネタとあわせ実に爽快に笑わせてくれる。

主人公のあやめ嬢は、いわば「男性から見た理想の女性像の一パターン」的な女性。難事件の解決へのプロセスでの活躍も彼女の魅力をかき立てる一つの要素となっている。

また、「あやめに~」など複数の作品に登場する、大竹ま○と氏にウリ二つの男性キャラも、作品内で味わいをそえている。性格も大竹氏そのまんま。頭の中でビジュアル化されながら「実写版が登場したら間違いなく本人が演じるだろうな」という思いがかけめぐる。

「伊藤氏版大正浪漫活劇漫画」という言葉にそそられた人は是非チェックを。
