こんなじんさんになりたいと本気で心に誓った私はおバカさんでしょうか？でも、そうなんだもん。菅原文太と石原さとみの主演で映画化されＤＶＤも出ているのでそれも観てみたいが、相変わらず邦画のＤＶＤは高いなあ。映画を観た方は原作もどうぞ。

筒井康隆の作品では、少女を主人公にした小説に「時をかける少女」や「家族八景」等があります。「わたしのグランパ」も中学生の珠子が主人公です。
ＳＦの要素はなく、少女と破天荒なおじいちゃん（グランパと彼女が呼んでいる）のふれあいを描いた物語です。

グランパは、導入部では、噂だけで登場します。おばあさん、父親、母親がいつか帰ってくグランパを噂し、珠子がどんな人か推理するところから始まります。グランパは、今ではすっかりいなくなった侠気を持った人で、グランパが戻ってきてからは、珠子の抱えていた問題が次々と解決され始めます。

どうも珠子だけではなかったようで、町中が、なんとなく暖かな雰囲気になっていくようです。
筒井康隆の描くグランパと珠子、珠子が知ったグランパの友人たちは何れも魅力的で、ホロっとしてしまいます。

ちょっと肩の荷を降ろして、心をリフレッシュしたいような時に相応しい小説だと思います。分量も１４０ページ程度で、文字も大きいので、気持ちが疲れたとき等にお読みになられると良いと思います。

かわいい女の子とおじいちゃんが主役の家庭と学校を舞台にした話だから、いつもより筒井康隆の毒が意識的に抑えられてるような気がします。でもやっぱり筒井は筒井、ところどころで筒井のざまあみろといわんばかりのブラックなユーモアが出てきます。
話自体が短いし、非常に簡潔なので筒井を読んだことがない人に勧めやすい作品だと思います。
