偶然テレビで見た城山三郎の対談に興味を持ち、初めて読んだ作品がこの本だった。しばらくまともに本を読んでいなかった私でも、すらすら読める文章に加え、深い内容を伴っている。日本にも、この世から姿を消してしまった後でさえも、存在感を残せる人が居たことを教えてもらった一冊。

今、日本には不況ムード一色で、経営を立て直す救世主は日本人以外となっている。しかし、この人を含め、この時代のトップを見ると｢この人ならやっただろうな。」と思えてくる。

戦後の環境が日本にこういったトップをたくさん生み出す結果となったのは事実であろう。だが、この本を読んでいると、だからといって今の時代のトップが同じ事をできないというのは、言い訳に過ぎない気がする。

自分の身の丈をよく知り、かつプライド(いい意味で）が高い。

｢自分がどう見られているか」にこだわる人は多いが、結局トップ自身が｢自分がどう生きたい。」という事にこだわらなかった結果が不況を生んだ気もした。

正義感が強すぎる？不況を生み出し、出口のない｢あいまいさ」よりましだ。

石田　礼助さんの一本筋の通った生き方。今の時代にこのような生き方が出来る人はなかなかいないと思う。『祖にして野だが卑ではない』という意味をこの本より痛感することが出来た。とっても素晴らしい生き方であると思った。この世の中・・・何が大切かを考えさせられる一冊です。
