　不思議な小説である。主人公たちは男であろうが女であろうが、現実と妄想の狭間を揺れながらまさに夢うつつで行動している。彼ら自身には何もハッキリした物はないのだが、周囲の世界は厳然としており、主人公たちはそこからいつのまにかはみ出してしまう。
　最初はあいまいで分かりにくく、読みにくい、乗りにくい話だと思っていた。しかし読み終わって、しばらく立つと実は良く練られた筋書なんだろうかと思い直して、もう一度手に取ってしまう。
　映画の原作になった作品も含まれている。映画は未見だが、配役やセックスをテーマにしたことで話題になっていた。下世話なハリウッド映画がどうであれ、本書は私には官能的と言うよりは観念的であった。そのギャップを映像で確認してみるのも面白いかもしれない。
