内容が現代（母に会いに行く）と過去を行きつ戻りつして、若干読みづらい気もしましたが、それが逆に著者自身の心の混乱なのだろうか？と思ったりもしました。母の存在（ナチスの収容所の看守をしたという事実や、自分達を捨てていったという事実）を今でも背負って生き、勇気を持って発表する著者の精神には感服します。思っていた以上に衝撃的で生々しい内容でした。かわいそうとかそういった次元ではない、戦争のもたらす現実を突きつけられた作品でした。

わずか４才で母親に捨てられる娘
しかも、母親が娘を捨てて向かったのはナチス親衛隊員としての、アウシュビュツ収容所の看守になるためだった。
その母親と57年振りに向き合う娘
母親の年齢から考えて最後かもしれない面会
自分を捨てた母親との対面だけでも過酷だろうに
著者は母親が行った収容所の真実をも目を逸らせられない
母親の愛情を貰えなかったと感じる著者が、その傷口を広げながらアウシュビッツの真実をも聞き出す
幼い我が子を捨てても、ナチス親衛隊として忠実である母親
母親ではない親衛隊員でしかないのか？
罪悪感は何処にも存在しないのか？
５７振りに母親と向き合う４才で捨てられた娘の心の傷がひしひし感じる作品
母と息子ではなく、母と娘だからこそ痛々しさが生々しいのかもしれない

ナチの加害者側（しかも女性、しかも家庭を持っていた）の肉声が
娘の悲痛な思いを通して語られていて、衝撃を受けました。
母娘の剥き出しのやりとりは、まるで舞台劇を見ているような
臨場感があり、一気に読みました。そしてこんな世界があるのだと
思い知らされ、いろいろと考えさせられました。衝撃のすごさに星５つ。
