直木賞を取ってからの、唯川恵の作品はとても面白くなった気がする。
賞を取る前までは、「恋愛のみ」って感じだったけど、最近は奥が深くなったように思う。
全然血のつながらない家族愛が良く描かれているように思う。

血の繋がりはないけれど強い絆から家族となった４人の女達。
祖母、母、二人の娘の恋、仕事、結婚を娘達のエピソードを軸に描いていきます。
娘達の未熟さも、母の大人だからできる割り切り方も、祖母の覚悟も
すべてに同性として共感できました。
唯川さんってコテコテの恋愛小説を書く人ってイメージがあったけど、
今作は随分深いところまで描いていたと思います。
恋愛小説というよりは「女の人生論」。
そのせいか甘いだけの恋愛小説よりずっと良かった！
深みのある作家になったのですね。
この本のお母さんやおばあちゃんみたいないい女になりたい！
全ての女性に爽快な元気と希望を与えてくれる本です。

5.0 out of 5 stars デビュー２０年を経て進化を続ける女流作家, 2006/1/7
血のつながらない祖母、母、二人の姉妹という4人の女たちの人生を描いた作品です。本作は二人の姉妹を軸にしながら彼女達の恋や仕事を丁寧に描いています。そして中盤以降はそれらが意外なところで繋がり、結びついて行きます。またラストに繋がっていくストーリー展開は見事で、読後感も凄く良かったです。他にも、気の利いた、うまい表現があちこちでサラリと書かれていて、このことにも驚かされました。
最近は、お気に入りだった作家さんの作風が急に変わって自分好みではなくなったり、きらめくようなデビュー作を出したにもかかわらず、その後の作品は輝きを失ってしまったように感じられる作家さんを見かけて残念に思っていました。そんな中で、デビュー２０年を経て、作品を出すごとに輝きを増していく唯川さんは本当に凄いと思います。
