老若男女全ての皆さんに好評な本...ではないでしょうか？
独特の、軽やかな"ですます"調は相変わらず。お扇子を膝の上で打ちながら~のような、この文体が好きなので買っている気もします(笑)
めだか姫の、好奇心旺盛・おおらか、かつ心優しいキャラは健在です。それにしてもホントウは奥方様と呼ぶべきなんでしょうが、眉も剃っていないらしいですしね。
とりあえず、国許にいるお殿様以外はぞろぞろとご登場。更にめだか姫のお姉様方も登場です~大中小と揃った中に男性諸氏には好みのタイプがいるでしょうか♪
そして、自然に楽しめる江戸の風物についての様々な知識は、ちと薀蓄好きにはオススメ。でも「姫若天眼通」なる大名のお姫様・若様の番付はホントウに存在したかどうかは怪しいですけれど~(笑)
また、前々作以前の作品同様、将棋が好きだったらもう少し楽しめるとも思います。そこのところが同時にちょっと残念だったりします。
でも、めだか姫の将棋の腕前も自分と似たようなものだから大丈夫かも~です（笑）

更に表紙の柴田ゆうさんの。柔らかな描線と色遣いも作品イメージにあっていて、お気に入り♪

※前作の「面影小町伝」が「大江戸三部作完結編」だったような気がしたんですが、こちらの帯に「好評シリーズ第三弾」との記述が。
前作はちょっとシリアスだったから、外れたのでしょうか？

退屈姫君こと、陸奥磐内藩五十万石の姫君にして四国風見藩の正室めだか姫が、天下の一大事に立ち向かうシリーズ三作目。
この書名から、風見藩主時羽直重が参勤交代で国許に帰っているため、さてはめだか姫、誰か想い人でもできたのか？と思ったら大間違い。風見藩士の冷飯食い（役職につけずにフラフラしていた一家の次男、三男たちのことです）と小藩の姫君との身分違いの恋を成就させるため、めだか姫が一肌脱ぐといったお話。前作までと違って色恋沙汰かとガッカリしたら大間違い。めだか姫が乗り出して単なる色恋沙汰で終わるはずもなし、老中の田沼意次や将軍さま、藩取り潰しの陰謀までからんで、やっぱり天下の一大事となるわけです。
めだか姫はじめ、くのいちのお仙や将棋指しの天童小文五などいつものメンバーに加え、著者の他の作品には登場していますが退屈姫君のシリーズでは前作が初顔見せだったお仙の兄の一八や無類の棋力を持った榊原香奈らも活躍、大騒動に花を添えています。
いつもながらの落語風の口調で語られるめだか姫の大活躍、最終章を見るとまだ続きそう。次作が待ち遠しいです。
