田中芳樹のファンだけどキングコングは見た事がない。そういう方は沢山いると思います。迷っているのなら購入をお勧めします！私が何よりそうでした。とても楽しめますよ。

誰もが知ってる、キングコング。
私は、タイトルとあらすじは知っていたけど、実際に映画を見たことはなくて、
今ちょうどリメイク版を上映してるし、それを見ようかなって思っていました。
・・で、たまたま本屋に行ったときに、小説版を見つけて、
それが私の大好きな田中芳樹先生が書かれたものだと気づき、
そのままレジへ持って行きました。
ただただ映画の内容を文章化しただけ、というアリガチな小説ではなくて、
大筋では映画の内容に沿っているけど、
田中芳樹先生らしいアレンジと説明書きと、映画に負けない臨場感とがとっても面白くて、あっという間に読み終えてしまいました。
映画は近いうちに行こうと思っていますが、小説のほうが面白かったらどうしようかなぁ。

楽しく読めた。一日で読んでしまった。

前半の航海シーンでは、登場人物たちのやりとりが楽しかったり、
合間合間に披露される当時の歴史的背景が勉強になったりと、
「このままスカルアイランドに到着しなくてもいいのに」と思った程。

が、到着したら到着したで手に汗握るシーンの連続で引き込まれる。
さらに、原作にはない味付け（裏付け？）が田中氏により施されていたりで
ファンタジーの中にも合理性を追求しようとする姿勢に好感。

話題映画の原作として、ではなく
1冊の新刊としておすすめできる本です。
