この作品は角田さんの中では初めて読んだ作品になりました。
個人的に彼女の小説よりもエッセイの方が好きです。
この作品が非常に良かったので、その後いくつかのエッセイを手にとり
その後小説を読み、ほぼ読破しましたが、何度読んでもエッセイの方が
好きかなと思います。
「だれかのことを強く思ってみたかった」は佐内さんとのコラボに
なっていますが、佐内さんの写真を楽しむためにも文庫より単行本を
お勧めします。
文庫では写真が小さすぎて写真に載せられた感情などを上手く読み
とることが出来ないような気がして…
角田さんの文章だけをお好みの方でしたら文庫でも十分だと思います。

佐内正史が切り取った東京の風景に角田光代がショートストーリーを付け加えていく、という形の本です。
まず第一に言いたいのが、佐内正史の写真がすばらしい！　そのあまりに日常な風景に付け加えられる角田光代の文章が描く物語は、さらにどこにでもありそうな日常でした。写真と物語がきちんと融合している。この融合が一番ガッチリしているのは祖母と時間が描かれている「押し入れ」だと私は思います。この話の三枚目の写真には、思わずため息を漏らしました。
ほか、P12-13の写真風景に懐かしみ、三人の微妙な関係を描いた単行本時書下ろしの「東京」ですっと日常の中に入り込め、文庫化時書下ろしの「東京の朝」（角田光代）、「東京の夜」（佐内正史）では三年前を振り返った二人の関係にほほえめました。
とってもふんわりさくっと読めるので、気が向いた時などにオススメです。
