この作品には通せないと判っているけど筋を通したい、通さなきゃいけない、そんな信念みたいな物があると思います。特に、第一話「闇の花道」で自分たちの所為で銀二親分が罠にはまり、逮捕された事への仕返しに、目細一家の皆が自分たちの金を隣近所にばら撒く下りはスカっとしました。そして、松蔵の父親がごくつぶしだった為に、吉原に売られた姉・さよと運命的な再会をする話(前後編に分かれています)は、大体お決まり的なんですが、矢張り泣けます。笑えて泣けるピカレスクロマンが好きな人にお勧めです。

「鉄道員」で泣けず、「壬生義士伝」では上下巻で2・3箇所涙した私ですが、この作品では1巻目にして5.6箇所は泣いているでしょう。
「衣紋坂から」では、すでに文字を追うことが困難な状態に・・・
ひとと泣き所が違うのでしょうか？
おじいちゃんの「説教話」が心にしみわたる、時代に流されて生きている現代人にお勧めの一品です。

男性にも、女性にも、是非読んでもらいたい粋な物語。
物事、筋が通ってる。ただそれだけで、素晴らしい。羨ましい生き方。
ある意味、禅問答のようなものなのだ、この話。
今の時代になかなか見つけにくい人情を感じることができます。
忘れちゃいけない心粋というものがあるのだな、と。
全編の内容もホントにすばらしいけど、
物語の奥に活字には表してない事情を連想させる手法にも見事にハマります。
それを思うだけでも目頭が熱くなります。
ラーメン屋で読んでいたオイラは鼻水すすってんだか、
ラーメンすすってんだか解らなくなりましたよ。
さらに私的見解ですが「衣紋坂から」の松が語る最後のシーン
浅田次郎さんの洒落がきいています。これは見事にやられたなぁ。
ぐいぐい引き込まれる天切り松の闇がたり、実際に聞いてみたいもんです。
