今回の新版を「学習漫画世界の歴史」旧版と比較して考えると、作るに際して、漫画として面白くしたい、という趣旨があったのではないかと思う。しかし、ストーリーを盛り上がらせようとするために、お話の始まり、話の盛り上がり、お話の終わり、といった、一話ごとの話のまとまりが強くなってしまい、巻ごとに話が閉じている印象がある。さらに、描いた漫画家が２０巻までに１３人もいて、それがいっそう巻ごとの独立性を強めている。（旧版では、描いている漫画家は基本的には１名で、アジア地域の３、５、７巻のみ違う漫画家が描いている。）旧板と比較すると、２０巻を通した連続性が弱まっており、歴史を主題にした漫画の全集といった印象を感ずる。

小学校にあがる娘が欲しがったので購入しました。
しかし、大人が読んでも楽しいです。「マンガ」ですが、文字だけでは理解しずらい事も分かり易くなっています。
「勉強」というより読むことを通して、歴史を理解する感じですね。

セット購入すると、期間限定で図書カードとワンピース（人気アニメ）のCDをもらえるので、更にお得感があります。

漫画ということは小学生あたりの年齢が対象？それだったらまあ深く考えずに読めていいかな…
と思って購入してみましたが、うーん…小・中学生には多少難しいのではないでしょうか？
「世界史」としてこの漫画を読むならば、大まかな流れを「知って」いないと話が横に繋がらないのでは。
「世界史」を勉強するのが高校生からだとしたら、これは受験用？
うーーーん、受験用としては内容が充分ではないかな…
受験勉強として使うなら、世界史を一通り勉強している、プラスアルファとして通読、ならオススメです。やはり文字で読むのと絵を見るのは百聞は一見にしかず、ですしね。
言葉も易しく分かりやすいのは確かです。
また、年代ではなくテーマで分類されているので、「古代文明」「中世ヨーロッパ」「産業革命」とか、部分的な大まかな流れは簡潔にまとまっています。そこだけでいいなら充分オススメできます＾＾
個人的にはイスラムの巻が好きだなー。
