黒田 研二
1969年三重県生まれ。信州大学経済学部卒業。2000年、本作で第16回メフィスト賞を受賞しデビュー。以来、次々とミステリ作品を発表し続け注目を集める。作家活動のほか、2006年夏に愛知医科大学や名古屋大学などが共同で実施した宇宙医学実験(筋肉の負荷や血流が無重力状態と似た条件になるように調整したベッドで20日間通して横になるというもの)に被験者として参加。テレビ、ラジオにも出演し注目をあびる(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

女性の祥子と男性のユウくん、二人の視点から物語が展開されていくのだが、途中からお互いの話がずれてくる。どちらの話が真実なのか分からないまま物語は終盤を迎え、最後に二人が再び出会うときに全ての真実が明らかになるのだが、どんどん引き込まれ一気に最後まで読んだ。1つの大きな事件を軸に、祥子の母の死、母が娘に伝えたかった想い、ユウくんの兄の行方など、様々な伏線が絡み合いながら全ての真実が一本の線につながる終盤は読み応えがあった。

結婚式の日、
新郎が事故で亡くなったという知らせが新婦に届き、
新郎が教会に行ってみると、新婦は失踪しており、代わりにフィアンセだと名乗る男が2人いて、
・・・
次々に新しい謎が提示される入念に書き込まれたミステリーです。
ですが、密室殺人のトリックは・・・それはちょっと、無理かも
全体の謎は、まぁ、想定の範囲内でした。
最後は結婚のシーンですが、
そんな経験をした祥子が結婚する気になるかなぁ・・・。ユウ君も。
二人の将来がかなり心配です。

読み易く、割とサクサク最後までいけちゃいます。
結婚目前のカップルに起きた事件を発端に、それぞれの視点で物語が
展開していくんですが、途中から読者が感じていくであろうズレ。
それが最後に解明されるわけですが、まあラストのダブルオチは
何となく分かっていたとしてもうまいやり方だと思います。

ネタバレになるので詳しくは書けませんが、読者に与えるズレの
感覚は面白かったです。何これ？パラレルワールドなの？みたいな。

ただ、やたら顔が似てる人物が出てきて読者にミスリードを与える部分や、
ありえないような密室トリック、殺人動機、祥子以外の人物描写の希薄さ等
首をかしげる部分も多いです。
ラストも無理矢理ハッピーエンドにしようとしてるような。。

ドンデン返し系が好きな人は楽しめると思います。
