2.0 out of 5 stars 京極堂はどこへ向かうのか？, 2006/11/25
　分冊版ではずいぶん細かく刻まれている宴の支度・始末についてです。
　この作品で、京極堂シリーズは、これまでぎりぎり踏みとどまってきた本格ミステリーの枠組みから、自らドロップアウトしました。理由は結末に直結しますので言えませんが、犯人側の仕掛けた｢あれ｣は、ＯＫなら何でもあり、という反則技。確かに、他作品で主役もつとめるあの人のあの能力も微妙だったのですが、今回のは･･････。したがって、本格ファンとしてはこの評価です。まあ、もともと本格の枠組みにいないよ、と言われればそれまでですが。
　逆に、キャラクター小説としてこのシリーズを好きな方は、高評価のようですね。
　ただ、登場人物が多すぎて収拾がついていないし、全体に散漫な印象。あと、以前の作品で、たいへん深い余韻を残して生き残ったあの人が、今作であのように必然性のない登場・退場をしたのも、なんだか･････。とにかく、長いし大仕掛けだし、それでいていろんな意味で憑きものがおちていない。
　あとの作品を見ても、京極氏にとっては、ターニングポイントとなったらしい１作。京極堂は、少なくともこの作品から、どこかへ向かうとは思えないのですけれど。

姑獲鳥、魍魎、狂骨、鉄鼠、
と読み進み、特に、魍魎、狂骨、では
頭脳を揺さぶられるような衝撃を受けました
しかし、蜘蛛、から
そのご都合主義がハナにつくようになり
（前からあったけれども）
今回の塗仏ではもう耐え切れませんでした
さんざん「ない」と言っておきながら
「ああ！こんなところに！」
ってなに？（苦笑）

いろんな妖怪の文献から話の素地をつくり
オカルトにならないぎりぎりのラインで
話を構築する力量はさすがだと思います

でももうつきあいきれないですね

（ストーリーに無関係だけど京極先生は蛍光灯の普及年をお調べになったほうがいいかも...蜘蛛での関口の「ベースギター」の件も時代錯誤だと思う）
