このお話は冒頭がすごいです！
事件が「ぱっ」っと始まったと思ったら、ビュンビュンと物語が“通過”していきます。
否応のない（そして決して不快でない）この引き込み方は本当に見事！！
ついついページをめくってしまうという現象に後から気づきます。高級カーに乗せられて、景色が見えない道路をつれまわされているような感覚ですかね。

時は昭和４０年代。
ある中小企業の社長の息子が誘拐されたところから事件が始まります。
誘拐犯は５０００万円を金塊に変えることを指定。
その５０００万という金額は、社長が会社再生をかけて用意した金額と同額でした。
疑問を持ちつつ社長は息子のために奔走。
あざ笑うような犯人の指示は数度にわたり、ついに金塊は海の底に。
子供は無事に帰ってきますが、その際の社長の台詞
「これでいいんだな？　○○」
はゾクゾクきます！

さて、時代は下って昭和６３年。
またしても誘拐事件がおきることになるのです。
関係者はすべて２０年前の誘拐にかかわった人たち。
さらに身代金の搬送人に指定されたのは、２０年前に誘拐された社長の息子！

事件は２０年前をトレースするかのように続きます。

物語の最後は意外とあっさり。
「え？これでおしまい？」と思うようなエピローグです。
ここでタイトルの『99％の…』が思い浮かび、「ああ」と思う人と「ええぇ？」と思う人に分かれるかもしれません。

とってスマートで、軽くて切れ味のよい作品でした。

作品全編を通じる疾走感のすばらしさ。
？な部分もあるし、コンピューター関係は古色蒼然となってしまったが、
それらを吹き飛ばして余りある疾走感を楽しんで欲しい。
一気読み間違いなし。

早いテンポで、刺激的にストリーは展開していく。新しいテイストの、人身を傷つける意図のない身代金誘拐事件だ。強いて言えば、最初の誘拐事件の犯人が、いまひとつ知的で悪人で、真犯人であるという存在感に欠けること、二つ目の誘拐事件の犯人の意図が事件の最初の偶然であっさりと適えられなくなる点が、やや物足りない点と言えようか。存分に楽しめる、作品です。
