　私は自閉症の子供を持つ父親で、私立高校教員です。現在、毎月のように広汎性発達障害の講演・研究会に出席し、また入門書から専門書へと勉強をしています。
　その中では、総花的ではありますが、この本は大変、分かり易く、また温かな目で説明されていると思います。確かに第一章「なんとなく変な子どもたち」・第二章「少年犯罪の背景にあるものは」は当事者や関係者にとっては嫌な気もしますが、しっかり読むと世の中の誤解を解こうとしています。特にアスペルガー症候群はここ最近の犯罪で朝日新聞において解説付きで、掲載され誤解を招いています。
　また、ﾎﾞｰﾀﾞｰﾗｲﾝﾁｬｲﾙﾄﾞという名づけで分析されている子どもたちは、学校において性格が悪いと誤解されている生徒でもあり、目を開かされました。

私は精神科医でもなく、医学生でもないため、この本の内容について批判する資格はないと思っているので、内容は一応参考になるとしておこう（この部分は星４つから星５つ）。

しかし、この本は書き方がダメ。すなわち、第１章「なんとなく変な子どもたち」、第２章「少年犯罪の背景にあるものは」で具体的事例から入ったのがダメ。というのは、発達障害等の知識を得る前に、子どもに対する偏見を植え付けているからである。この種の本を書くのならば、まず病名と特徴を書き、それから具体的事例を書くなど、偏見を生じさせない配慮をすべきだった（この部分が星１つから星２つ）。

以上、前半部分と後半部分の中間を取って、星３つの評価とする。

　何点かの発達障害の本を読んできましたが、この本は内容も新しく、難しい言葉が少なく、子供の事例が具体的に載っているので、わかり易いと思います。
　軽度の発達障害は、健常児との境界が難しいと思うのです。現代は健常児も健常でないと言う内容で、世相を捕らえていると思いました。
　筆者の優しそうな人柄も見えて、いい本だと思います。
