清水義範の語り口がやわらかく面白いです。

この種の「理科（あるいはその一分野）を易しく解説する本は、主に「理系」の人が書いていて、「どうだぁ、分かっただろう！」みたいな本が主でした。こういう本は書店では「科学」の本棚に並び、概して「全然言っている事が分からない~（たいていは文章力で・・・）」です。

サイバラの突っ込みカットも笑えます。文章で笑って、カットでもわらって、本当に「面白いけど理科」です。私は理科系出身ですけれど、「おそれいりました」の一言です。寺田寅彦、朝永振一郎、アイザックアシモフ以来です。

内容にちょっとだけ触れますが、「海辺の死に物」には大爆笑。

そして私の一家の内臓は「サイバラなみ」ということが分かりました（実はこのレビューを書き始める前、肉まんを食べていましたが、床に落ちた具を、もったいないからと拾って食いました。我が家の習慣なんです。あっ、ひかないで~）。

これでは分からない？じゃあ、わくわくしながらこの本を買って読みましょう！

この本は理科が好きな人も、嫌いな人も十分楽しめます。清水センセイのわかりやすい解説で、理科に興味を持つこと間違いなしです。 特にお勧めの章は｢油断大敵・痛ミシュラン｣。読んでのお楽しみということで詳しい内容は書けませんが、かなり笑えます。賢くなる・楽しめる…ひとつぶで２度おいしい本です。

西原理恵子の作品を探していて、おもしろそうなので買ってみたのだが、西原理恵子の絵は挿絵程度の分量であった。そういう面で西原ファンには、肩透かしかもしれない。本自体は清水義範が、理科というより科学のテーマを、理科を苦手とする西原理恵子にもわかるくらいに平易に解説している。科学を真剣に勉強しようという人には物足らないだろう。この本は、忙しくてなかなか本を読めないというサラリーマンに向いている本だと思う。今更人に聞けないし、昔習ったけど忘れちゃったという人に向いていると思う。地球環境のことなど、朝の電車の中で学習するにはお薦めである。
