THE ORIGINは、というか機動戦士ガンダムは、人によって様々に解釈できるドラマ、台詞、表情に溢れている作品だと思います。
それゆえか、ストーリーダイジェストやキャラクターに関する文章の中に、書いた人間の主観というか、思い入れが見え隠れしています。
その辺、「自分のガンダム」を強く持っている方には少し違和感があるかもしれません。

随所にちりばめられた安彦氏や大河原氏の裏話、インタビュー、書き下ろし漫画は素晴らしく、ORIGINファンなら買う価値はあると思いました。

ただ、この構成と執筆陣の手放し感は、ガイドというより、ファンブックって言ったほうが正しいんじゃないかと思います。情報を求める本ではないです。

各キャラクターのプロフィールが無かったり、公式ガイドといっているのにちょっと物足りない。
しかし、ガンダムＡにカラーで載っていたトニーたけざき氏の「ガルシアの朝（モノクロ）」と安彦良和氏書き下ろしの「その前夜」の完全版が収録されているのでそれだけでも買いかな。
また、安彦氏が愛蔵版について発言している所もあり、ファンからしたら気になる所ではないでしょうか？
ガンダムＡを一冊買うのをやめてでも購入する価値があります。
安彦ファンなら間違いなく買いですが、一般の方はこの値段を出して買うほどの物ではないかもしれません。

~丁度最近出版された本編第８巻までを網羅しています。迷っていた貴方、今が買い時でしょう。
巻末書き下ろし外伝「その前夜」は、アニメとすればややインパクトに欠けたかもしれませんが（やはりあのオープニングは、今観てもドキドキしますからね）、むしろ漫画や小説であれば「必須」だったかもしれません。カツ、レツ、キッカのキャラ背景云々よりも、私~~個人的には、出撃直前の「ひと悶着」にシビレました。

「ガンダム世界」そのもののデータ・ベースとしては、他のレビュアーの方達も触れておられるように目新しさはありませんが、安彦氏や大河原氏のファンの方にとっては「製作秘話」的要素が嬉しいかも。

また、逆にあまりアニメ版を知らない新しい読者には、「ガンダム」の入門書となりうるのではな~~いでしょうか？（最近は、映画公開当初のような「丁寧な」解説本も見かけなくなり、あの「１年戦争」もあたかも「世間周知の史実」の如き扱いになりがちですから）~
