角川学園小説大賞で賞をとった作品で、THORES柴本さんが挿絵をなさっているということでとても期待していた作品でした。
実際、作品内容としてもそれなりに楽しめました。一読しても損は無いと思います。
まだまだ疑問や謎なんかが残っていて、次作に期待がもてる物語です。

なのに。

（1）が発売されてからしばらく、続巻はいつ出るのかなと、首を長くして待っていたのですが、なんと作者の野村さんが急逝なさってしまわれたそうです。
これからを楽しみにしていただけに、悔やまれてなりません。
もう続きは出ないんです。
本当に残念です。

例によって、THORES柴本先生が表紙＆挿絵を担当なさるとなればまず購入。

あらすじでもある通り、この本にはミステリー、ホラー、SFが盛り込まれています。まさに複合体＜ミクスチャー＞ですね。
私は今までファンタジー系ばっかり読んでいて、ミステリーやホラーといった類は読んだことがなかったのですが、読み始めからぐんぐん引き込まれてあっという間に読み終わりました。
物語のキーワードとなる“ボーンキング”とは何なのか？
主人公・海翔（かいと）を襲う人間の正体とは……？

特に謎のウイルスの設定には少しうすら寒くなりました。
自分達が“日常”を過している裏で、少しずつ世界が変わっていたら……
常識ではありえないとは分かっていても、物語のほんのひとかけらがとてもリアルに感じられました。
多少グロテスクな表現はありますが、平気な方はお手にとってみてはいかがでしょう？

現代、高校生、特殊な能力を付加するウィルス……
現実が非日常へと化していく。

ＳＦ複合のこの手のベタなパターンで、主人公が同じような奴らと戦う。

ベタ〜な大筋ではありますけれど、登場人物の人間性には深いものが在るように思える。
今回、主人公を襲った首謀者と、その相棒の関係には幾らか心打たれた。
この系統の中ならば、読んでみてもよいかと思う。
